Bailey Tool Repair Policies

For safety & liability reasons:

 All tools will be tested for: Electrical Continuity, Dielectric Breakdown, Leakage Current Test

 Any power cord or plug with damage will be replaced

 All non-repaired tools will not be re-assembled

 All tools that require guards and handles will have them replaced unless otherwise requested by the customer.

All hammers an inch and half and up, non-hand held electrical and gas powered equipment will be subject to a minnium of a $48 inspection fee if not repaired.

Completed and Non-Repaired Tools C.O.D. Customers:

Tools left longer than 30 days after repairs or estimates are completed will either be sold or disposed of, if you do not want your tool repaired you will have 30 days to pick it up or it will be disposed of.

Completed and Non-Repaired Tools Account Customers:

Tools left longer than 30 days after repairs or estimates are completed will be shipped back to the customer via UPS and charged to your account, tools that are unrepaired per the customer or are BER (beyond economic repair) that are left longer than 30 days will be shipped back to the customer via UPS and charged to your account as well.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Ridgid power tools have a three year warranty on them from the date of purchase. If you don’t have a reciept it will be from the date of manufacturing. To get any free service past the three year warranty, you will have had to sign up for their “Lifetime Service Agreement” in which Ridgid would have sent you a LSA number which you will need to have with you when dropping off the tool for repair.
If the tool is still under warranty you will need to bring in a copy of your reciept where you purchased the tool. For any other repair we recommend bringing in a battery with any of your cordless tools. We try to keep a wide variety of batteries in our shop to use for testing tools but don’t have them all.
Yes, we can give you an estimate before repairing your tool. We have found that most customers like to have a tool repaired if it will cost less than half of buying a new one. Many customers want our repair technicians to make that decision for them and some want to make that decision themselves. Please let us know when you drop off your tool how you want us to handle it.
We charge a minimum $12 estimate fee for most tools, larger tools and equipment will be more.
Here at Bailey Tools we strive to look at your tool in as timely a manner as we can. That will all depend on how many tools with have in at that time. On average, most any tool can be looked at by one of our repair technicians within a couple of days from when you drop it off. From there we will order parts and when those are received we will repair the tool and call you to let you know that your tool is ready for pick up.
We order parts from all the major manufacturers every week. In the case of some of our bigger lines, like Milwaukee and DeWALT, we will sometimes order parts two or three times a week.  With most others, it is once a week and the ordering is normally done on Friday afternoon. Once the order for parts is placed, it will normally be 5-7 business days before we will receive the order and allocate it to your repair. If for some reason there are parts on back order, we are then at the discretion of the manufacturer.
We have two different labor rates, for 90% of the tools that we have come in (i.e. cordless tools, bandsaws and smaller rotary hammers) the labor rate is $48.00 an hour and we bill in quarter hour increments.  In larger tools and gas equipment the labor rate is $64.00 and that too is billed in quarter hour increments. Most any tool that falls into the higher labor rate is subject to an estimate fee.
The repair shop is open Monday through Friday 7:30am till 4:30pm.
We try to stock a wide array of parts from all of our large manufacturers, we simply can not stock everything but try to stock the most commonly used parts for the tools that we feel we see the most of or are asked for the most.
Yes we all are factory trained directly by each of the manufacturers.
